The station is an affiliate of the Fox Television Network.
The Fox network affiliate in Mobile, Alabama, WALA TV 10 broadcasts news and entertainment programming in southern Alabama and the western panhandle of Florida. The station first signed on the air on January 14, 1953 as Mobile's second television station. It changed hands and network affiliations several times over the years. On January 1, 1996, WALA TV became an affiliate of the Fox Television Network.
On December 1, 2021, Gray Television closed on its acquisition of WALA and the rest of the Local Media Group of Meredith Corporation, adding 17 television stations in 12 markets to the Gray portfolio.

WALA TV 10 Names New News Director I loved watching channel 10 (Fox). I am furious with you for not renewing the contract with dishnetwork. Where we live, we have no other choice for reception. I know a lot of people in this area in the same boat. You have blocked us from your station. Please resolve with dish network. What good is WALA if we can't watch it? A lot of people in Mobile subscribe to DISH, but you now have effectively blocked us all out. I don't understand how this benefits you or your sponsors. You might reconsider being more reasonable because we will watch TV -- we simply won't watch your channel and you can sit and party by yourselves. I love WALA but due to the recent loss of thie channel I am not very happy due to the fact that FOX carries the first half of NASCAR of which I am a huge fan, shame on you WALA for asking for such an amount for this station to stay on DISH, The economy is bad enough all over but this sounds like Robbery to me.
