KWQC TV 6

KWQC TV 6 is a TV station in Davenport, Iowa, USA airing NBC network programs, local news and weather.

The station is an affiliate of the NBC Television Network.

KWQC TV 6 in Davenport broadcasts to the Quad Cities, a region that includes Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois.

The station began broadcasting on October 31, 1949 as WOC TV. It was founded by B. J. Palmer, founder of the Palmer College of Chiropractic. It has been said that the WOC call letters stood for Wonders of Chiropractic, though the Palmer family never acknowledged that to be the case. WOC was the first TV station in Iowa and the Quad Cities. In 1986 the Palmers sold the WOC and KIIK radio stations to Vickie Anne Palmer and her then-husband J. Douglas Miller. Due to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules of the time, channel 6 changed its call letters to KWQC (Welcome to the Quad Cities) so as not to confuse the two properties. KWQC was sold to Broad Street Television in 1989 and to Young Broadcasting in 1995. Gray Television bought the station from Nexstar Media Group in 2016.

This TV station is owned by Gray Television, Inc.
