Former station owner Quincy Media put itself up for sale on January 7, 2021. Within a few weeks, Gray Television emerged as the likely buyer. When the deal closed on August 2, 2021, Gray sold ten former Quincy stations including KWWL TV to Allen Media Broadcasting, a unit of Allen Media Group which is part of Entertainment Studios, Inc., a business founded and controlled by comedian and television producer Byron Allen.

He brings with him over 20 years of experience and numerous awards, including the Peabody Award for the 2007 coverage of the tragic shootings at Virginia Tech. Moreland succeeds Dan Schillinger who is taking the news director position at WQOW, another QNI property.
