KHSL TV began broadcasting in 1953. In February 2020, Allen Media Broadcasting bought KHSL TV and 10 other stations from Heartland Media, although the stations continue to be managed by Heartland. Allen Media Broadcasting is a unit of Allen Media Group, which is part of Entertainment Studios, Inc., a business founded and controlled by Byron Allen.
