NewsNation is a USA television channel covering National News.
NewsNation is an American cable news channel launched on March 1, 2021 that competes directly with CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC among others. NewsNation is promoted as a "fact-based, unbiased national news" service that is "politically agnostic." That claim is undermined by the presence of former Fox News Channel executive and Trump White House Director of Communications Bill Shine on the NewsNation payroll.
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, one of the largest owners of local television stations in the United States. This gives the channel access to the reporting of Nexstar's 5,400 journalists in 110 local newsrooms across the country.
The service replaced WGN America, a cable channel acquired by Nexstar as part of its purchase of Tribune Media Company on September 19, 2019.

-- Chris Cuomo, a former CNN star who was fired late last year, will host a prime time show on NewsNation starting this fall. Lately Cuomo has been running "The Chris Cuomo Project" podcast on YouTube. NewsNation should be a step up although not a big one, as the cable news channel has a tiny prime-time average audience of 46,000 viewers.

-- The recently launched cable news channel NewsNation has "abysmal ratings and disaffected staff," and top executive Sean Compton said the service was doing "friendly, vanilla news" that was "not working." If NewsNation has a future it's likely to be full of antagonistic, rocky road news.
